Once registered, you’ll submit maintenance documents directly to Charlotte Water and store on a new business profile. This is a free way to help stay in compliance with the Sewer Use Ordinance.
The purpose of the Charlotte Water Free Flow Program is to prevent fats, oil, and grease (FOG) from being discharged to the Sewer Collection System. When poured down the drain, FOG hardens inside sewer pipes, constricting wastewater flow and clogging the pipes. Cleaning clogged pipes and responding to sewer overflows is very costly to business owners and the City.
